This week I am so very excited to feature my blogging pal Jennifer and her top design picks for the home. Jennifer is settling into her new home and has come across some fab and affordable creations she wants to share with you! Hop on over so to If I Must Say So to enjoy her daily inspirational posts and beautiful collages!
Hi Swish and Swoon readers! My name is Jennifer and I’m an Austin, Texas, gal with a love for food, fashion and personal style. I also have a little blog called If I Must Say So where I dish about life, style and creative everyday inspiration. I often write about fashion, designers and looks that inspire my personal style, but lately I’ve been hunting for inspiration to help me style our new home! We bought our first house in a cozy East Austin neighborhood and I’m searching high and low for creative and affordable ways to make it our own. Our vibe is masculine-industrial meets colorful meets vintage-inspired, so sometimes it’s a challenge to find pieces that master all three styles!
Luckily, I’ve found a few items recently that really capture our style, and I just had to share them with you today:
We love old books for their vintage designs and gilded lettering. I found these vintage book collections grouped by color and thought they would be the perfect addition to a mantelpiece or bookshelf, surrounded by various trinkets and collectibles.
Another great find were these vintage wooden arrows. The hand-painted details and hawk feathers can really brighten up a room. I’d love to see these displayed as a group of four or five arrows on a wall in our home.
I think this vintage camera poster would make a timeless, affordable and impactful piece of wall art. Design Editor Catherine Davis took this photo of her vintage camera, blew it up on thin paper for less than $4 and framed it for her home. Great idea!
Do you have any other ideas to help us style our home?
Thanks for having me, Jess!
